Get on the bite at the Dartmouth Cup Yamaha Fishing Classic
Friday 5th, Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th June

Join more than 500 anglers and catch a great weekend at the Dartmouth Dam Yamaha Fishing Classic during the June long weekend. Dartmouth is one of the few places you can still launch a boat, enjoy dropping a line, and at the end of the day hook up with friends and locals over a cool ale and great fish tale or two.

There are a large number of prizes to be won including trophies, cash and prize draws for Best Brown Trout, Best Rainbow Trout, Best European Carp, the Club/Team championship and Junior Lucky Fish Draw.

"The fish are back on the bite, the prizes are very generous and the water levels are starting to increase just in time for this great event.

The stories and characters I meet over the bar just make it a fabulous weekend full of laughs and good times for everyone." said Aaron Scales, Dartmouth Tavern.

This year's major prize is a Makocraft 390 Estuary Tournament Tracker Boat, Yamaha 25 horse power Electric Start Motor and a Makocraft trailer valued at over $12,000.

To be in the running for the daily open Lucky fish draw, anglers will weigh in their catch to receive each entry. The prize draw takes place on the Sunday night together with presentations and a barrel of laughs, a hearty pub meal and entertainment.

Fishermen and women can compete by fishing Dartmouth Dam, the regulating dam and Mitta River section from Dartmouth to the Mitta Mitta Bridge on Dartmouth Road. Adult Entry is $45 with an early bird incentive of $40. Junior fees are $15 for the junior events.

"This community event caters for a niche market and is an excellent example of one of the many recreational pursuits on offer, one that seems to be increasing in popularity. The Dart Cup is a real credit to the organizing committee and sponsors who promise a great time for all that attend" said Mary Fraser, Mayor, Towong Shire Council.

So grab a team, a club or simply pack your own bait and tackle and head to the Dartmouth Cup Yamaha Fishing Classic where a good weekend of fun is a guaranteed catch.
