Take a drive on any day of the week and you’ll be impressed by the region's magnificent beauty and how Lake Hume's landscape offers changing views with fluctuating water levels. The Lake bed is dry at Old Tallangatta and reveals the old streetscape of the town that moved. It is an ideal place for fossicking and treasure hunting and learning how one of Australia's greatest removalist feats was achieved. Be sure to see the images of houses being loaded on to trucks and being tied on with a few bare ropes. Incredible! ![]() The Community of Old Tallangatta celebrates its heritage and gathers for a wonderful day of Devonshire Blues on the lawns of Winnawoo Manor on Sunday the 30th of March. With the sensational combination of 2007 Blues Queen Kate Meehan, boogie woogie pianist Skip Landy and legendary local guitarist Al Fowler headlining the afternoon's entertainment, you'll have a sensational time at Old Tallangatta. There's room to dance, a fabulous local arts exhibition, arts and crafts, and an open garden to enjoy. Devonshire Blues is a BYO event. Admission is $15 per adult, or take advantage of the early bird special of just $10 per adult. Children are welcome $5 each.
